Abstract

Our master Ibrahim al-Khalil, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, asked God Almighty to send among his offspring those who would teach and purify them, so God Almighty responded to his supplication and sent Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, as a guide, a good tidings and a warner. (Al-Baqara, Al-Imran, Al-Jumu`ah) This research dealt with the subject of knowledge contained in these verses, starting with the supplication of Abraham and Ismail, peace and blessings be upon them, and then responding to that call. Indicating the connection and appropriateness between these verses and the verses that were revealed at the beginning of the revelation - Surat Al-Alaq in particular - in an attempt to find the logical relationship between these verses and the surah, linking them to a meaning that is legally acceptable and rationally dependent on God Almighty, and then on the sayings of the commentators - both ancient and contemporary - in the meanings of those verses And after the scholars’ interpretations of looking at the verses and reflecting on them, deducing from them (the basics and means of seeking knowledge) and (the pests and temptations that afflict the seeker of knowledge and their prevention).

Keywords: knowledge, Abraham's call, acclamation.
