SELECTIONS OF JURISTIC ISSUES WITH TWO ASPECTS AMONG THE SHAFI'I SCHOOL IN THE CHAPTER OF WIPING OVER SOCKS FROM THE BOOK "AL-BAYAN" BY AL-UMRANI (DIED 558 AH) - A COMPARATIVE STUDY
Abstract
Before embarking on this research, it is essential to clarify the methodology adopted in studying the juristic issues that have two aspects within the Shafi'i school, specifically focusing on selected issues in the chapter of wiping over socks from the book "Al-Bayan" by Al-Umrani - may Allah have mercy on him. The study aims to compare and analyze the issue of wiping over socks in cases of sinning during travel and its impact on sock wiping, the issue of the effect of ritual impurity (hadath) on sock wiping in urban areas before travel, and the issue of wiping over socks under leather socks. The researchers’ methodology involves presenting the issue initially, then discussing the first viewpoint within the Shafi'i school, followed by mentioning the schools of thought that align with this viewpoint. Subsequently, we present the second viewpoint within the Shafi'i school, the supporting schools of thought, the evidence for each viewpoint, and then conclude by favoring the viewpoint based on the strength of evidence. In conclusion, we urge researchers and students of knowledge to focus on studying the juristic aspects and their legal implications. All praise and thanks are due to Allah.
