Dispute Between Theologians Regarding The Attitude Towards The Truth Of The Attributes Of Allah

Abstract

The problem of divine attributes is a problem as old as the issue of the creation of the Qur’an and the issue of the deep disagreement that erupted between the "Mu’tazila" and most of the Islamic sects, which is (the problem of creating the Qur’an), among which is the issue of names and attributes. The Book, the Sunnah, and these attributes are nothing but an expression of an attribute of Allah, Glory be to Him, and His attributes Names, and from here, some stopped at the position of these attributes and in this position is safety, which is the position of the predecessors of this nation, and that is for fear of falling into error, so they refrained from delving into its interpretation as the predecessors remained silent, and some  The other engaged in this issue with vigor, especially among the latecomers, as we shall see, and took a position on it.  Those who permitted adding the name to the Essence said: “This is justified and does not contradict the reality of the Divine Essence. As for those who refused, they said it is not permissible because the name of a thing is a branch of its rationality and it is part of it without considering the multiplicity of meanings in the Essence or the existence of parts of the Essence, rather it is taken from the description.  There is a third position that differentiates between nouns and adjectives.
